We grew up on grits. In my case, it was a dish from my mother’s roots in Kentucky. Daddy, a Midwesterner, didn’t care for them. They were as common in our household as oatmeal is to many others. I love grits, a sort of comfort food. It wasn’t until way into adulthood that I found out you could do anything other than butter grits. I learned when I lived in Wilmington NC about shrimp n grits, cheese grits and such and learned how to make these. I have not tried sweetening them, but I may have to give that a try.
