I have lost a lot of weight. I was pulled aside back in my 20’s by a friend who told me that she noticed I was putting on weight. I was a newlywed. It was newlywed weight, which I understand is common. I was embarrassed, but took it as a message from someone who cared and I started losing weight. In that case, it was a close, intimate friend and we are still friends today. In this day, I might say something back, but it all worked out okay. Our friendship was not one of jealousy about weight. She is a nurse and was being in her health conscious personna. The most difficult part is when I go to eat at an event and there is nothing but sweets. I’ve gotten used to it, but I end up drinking water and socializing and I won’t say it’s easy. Sugar is something I cannot tolerate for a couple reasons, one being diabetes.
